THOUGHTS
Let’s think big this morning. I’m thinking of how awesome it is that I...
me.. Can call the God of all I can imagine, FATHER. I do it
so easily, sometimes as just natural, I hope never flippantly.
FATHER implies RELATIONSHIP. I am humbled as I consider this
privileged position.
Jer 3:19 "Then I said, ‘How I would set you among My sons And give
you a pleasant land, The most beautiful inheritance of the nations!’ And I
said, ‘You shall call Me, My Father, And not turn away from following Me.’
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the
right [power, authority] to become children of God, even to those who
believe in His name,
Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are
sons of God.
Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ
Jesus.
Gal 4:6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of
His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
2Pet 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and
magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the
divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by
lust.
1John 3:1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us,
that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason
the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
I am surely glad that I got out of bed this morning... to read these passages
at the start of my day! The thought of how all this happened
through the DEATH-BURIAL-RESURRECTION of Jesus the Christ is beyond my scope
this morning. The FACT THAT IT DID is sufficient. The fact
that I am HIS CHILD makes my day... my eternity.
Heb 2:11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are
all from one [Father;]for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,
[wow!]
Rom 4:17b even God, who gives life to the dead and
calls
into being that which does not exist.
It is surely God’s doing!
My Prayer:
Thank you Oh God, my Father, for your love and grace and mercy in Christ
Jesus. How great a love you have bestowed on us the we can be called your
children. Thank you from the deepest parts of our souls. You Oh God
have saved us, and called us with a heavenly calling. Help us to respond
as children ought. Teach us submission and obedience. Give us joy
as we seek YOU.
In the precious name of Jesus
Amen
